Best 13″ Inch Chromebook Guide|Reviews
At the beginning of the year, if you wanted a Chromebook with a screen larger than 11″ you were severely limited to the HP 14 Chromebook, the Chromebook Pixel and that’s about it. Manufacturers though have started making 13″ and larger Chromebooks part of their lineup and that’s good news for those of us who prefer a bit larger screen. With the recent release of the new Acer and Toshiba Chromebooks, we have real decisions to make about what Chromebook to purchase with these screen size specs. The Toshiba Chromebook 2 is not only the best 13″ Chromebook, we think it’s the best Chromebook ever made. The IPS HD screen is awesome and while the Bay Trail processor isn’t the fastest on the market, it’s a solid performer and good enough for most people. The only problem with the larger screen sizes and better displays is the cost tends to go up, but for a lot of people it’s worth it for the upgrades. On the cheap end the HP Chromebook 14 has a great processor and a decent display and can often be hand for around $200, so you have options at all ends of the price, performance and display spectrum. Let’s jump and see our Best large screen Chromebook picks.

Toshiba CB35-B3340 Chromebook 2 Top Rated
The Toshiba Chromebook 2 is our top rated 13 inch Chromebook because of its amazing IPS screen and long battery life with adequate performance. This newer version of the Toshiba Chromebook actually has a slightly downgraded processor than last years model but they more than made up for it with the gorgeous 1080P beauty of a screen. Toshiba really got it right with this Chromebook balancing price and performance and while this one has just been released, I expect it soon to be one of the best selling Chromebooks of all time. This is the one you’ve been waiting for.
So far the Toshiba Chromebook meets expectations. Beautiful screen and attractive build. I like the keyboard feel and its responsive enough for practical work. – Amazon Customer
Absolutely a great Chromebook! The full HD 1920 IPS screen makes all the difference – Mike
The Toshiba Chromebook 2 with IPS display is without a doubt the very best Chromebook to date. – R.J.
HP Chromebook 14 | Great Budget Buy
If you are like me, then you wanted a Chromebook to save money compared to buying a full Windows laptop and that’s why I believe this is a great Chromebook for the price. This is often avaailable at just over $200 and for that price, this is a great machine. The 14 inch screen makes for great screen viewing and the while the glossy screen isn’t an IPS display, it is good enough for most normal activities. These often come with free 4g for life from T-mobile and that’s great for the occasions where you find yourself without Wi-Fi and need a bit of data.
However, I realize that a budget laptop comes with budget compromises, and when I look at the what the laptop has to offer as a whole compared the price, I am still far beyond satisfied with this product.- Zack
I was afraid to use it at first, since it was so different than my old Dell running WXP. Now I am wondering why I waited so long to make the change. Love the big screen.-Mary
The machine itself is beautiful. The keyboard is very comfortable and the display crisp and clear. The sound is also excellent which is so important to me. This is a very light machine coming in just at 4 pounds so it is truly a mobile device when needed.- Penguin Chick
Asus C300MA – DB01 Solid Chromebook
Asus entered the Chromebook market this year with a solid 13″ model. The C300 is not outstanding in any one area but overall is a great little machine. The screen isn’t an IPS and the processor isn’t a Haswell but if you are looking for a decent machine with excellent battery life, then Asus might have the Chromeboook for you. Asus also priced this Chromebook and it’s smaller brother the C200 correctly with prices usually just over $200. This is another solid choice for those looking for those wanting to go a few days before having to charge and prefers a quiet experience while working.
The chromebook itself is incredibly light. It is also silent while running. It doesn’t have a fan due to the new Intel processor and you literally can not hear a thing when it is running. – Basil016
I love this chromebook. The performance was adequate for my purposes and the build quality made me confident enough to bring it anywhere and everywhere, which is what I did. – John
It runs perfectly smooth and boots right up when I shut it down. It has battery life up til 10 hours (FREAKIN AMAZING). This chromebook is made for the simple minded and its a great laptop that won’t turn my legs into grilled steaks (the computers fan-less) – Theresa
Acer Chromebook 13 CB5-311-T7NN Review
Acer’s newest Chromebook uses the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor to give it exceptional battery life but it comes up a little short in the performance department. The battery lasts up to 13 hours which is awesome for any type of notebook and gives a tablet-like performance becuase the NVIDIA chip is a mobile processor used primarily on phones and other mobile devices. Although this is one of the newer Chromebooks, the screen performance is still not the up to the Toshiba or other newer Chromebooks coming it at the standard 1366×768 or you can spend $100 more and get the 1080P HD version but it does not have an IPS screen. The processor does run fairly cool though and because of that this is a fanless machine. If you can find this at a decent price, it’s a decent machine and will handle most tasks just fine.
No fan blowing, very little heat generated at all. A true laptop that can comfortably rest on your bare skin lap or on your belly lying in bed for hours on end. S. Yee
The Acer’s build is solid and well thought out. Lightweight and attractive in it’s simple way. Boots up quick, the keypad is sturdy and responsive, the screen is great for doing work, though as others report, the viewing angle is limited – Michael
Overall, I am happy with the product. My daughter likes it for games, reading books using kindle app, reading with Raz-Kids, learning how to do email and google hangouts. – Scott
