Hands-down, slam-dunk our top pick for the season. First released in the summer of 2015, this impressive touchscreen Chromebook rotates 360 degrees, has a 9-hour battery life and functions well for both work and play. Consider it a laptop that doubles as a tablet. It weighs a mere two pounds and costs next to nothing, yet you can use it for note taking in the office, stream videos, take it to a coffee shop to catch up on work. It’s got a full keyboard and large touchpad. We predict school districts will be opting out of providing students with iPads and selecting this ASUS Chromebook Flip as a better, cheaper more durable alternative in the near future.
“Absolutely gorgeous…The biggest argument in favor of Chromebook Flip over iPad is that you get the uncompromised ‘desktop’ experience on a tablet with much more flexibility.” Swapnil Bhartiya
“The features of flip screen, a physical keyboard, self stand, touch screen display, touch screen keyboard, and the mouse/touchpad are awesome.” Alex CK
“The Asus Chromebook flip might be the first device to offer the best of both ChromeOS and soon Android.” Lon J. Seidman

The full HD 13-inch IPS screen offers a beautiful picture for streaming movies and shows on YouTube, Netflix and Hulu as you take a break from your business of editing docs and presentation slides in Google Drive, responding to emails and creating spreadsheets. This computer is a real contender in the PC world because of its sleek design, high speed and multi-functionality. It’s great for video chats on Google+ hangouts and Facebook because of its booming speakers thanks to the Skullcandy audiophiles who fine-tuned this system. For the price you really can’t beat this multi-purpose computer. People claim it’s perfect for both work and play.
“The Toshiba Chromebook 2 offers a fantastic experience that really shows what Chromebooks are capable of. The 1080p display is the clear star here, and it’s worth every extra penny.” Michael Stenger
“Noticeably smaller, lighter, and fanless body…Springier keyboard similar to Asus CB 30 and Samsung Chromebook 2.” Mark Permann
“This is the best laptop I have bought so far.” Abu 3abed

This has been hailed as the “ideal Chromebook.” It boasts a slim, sleek design, a high-resolution 13-inch screen and it’s the first of its kind to be powered by a Quad Core NVIDIA Tegra K1 mobile processor. This ultra fast processor allows you to stream music and movies while running Google Drive programs & apps and view photos all at once without compromising speed. Acer has largely dominated the Chromebook market since its inception but it’s evolved from a clunky system to one with an elegant design and fast, reliable processing that makes it an excellent choice for a PC.
“Switching to the NVIDIA Tegra based K1 CPU has given the newest Acer Chromebook 13 a peppier power plant while retaining the same 2GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage as its predecessor.” Moon X
“The Acer’s build is solid and well thought out. Lightweight and attractive in its simple way. Boots up quick, the keypad is sturdy and responsive…but the best part is how long the battery lasts.” Michael Hudson
“I didn’t think it was possible but after 1 month of use, this has now become my go-to computer.” Cautious Consumer
2015 Newest Model HP 11.6-Inch Chromebook (Intel Dual-Core Celeron N2840 2.16GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB SSD, HD Display (1366 x 768), HD Webcam, Bluetooth, HDMI, Chrome OS)

It’s the closest thing to a Mac in its slim and stylish design but it’s only a quarter of the price. This made its debut in September 2015 amid rave reviews. The sound system is excellent, the keyboard system is solid with its Chiclet-style keys. It’s sturdy enough for businessmen and women to use daily for work, it’s simple enough for children to intuitively know how to operate and it’s a favorite among college students and writers who need a reliable computer to write with.
“The screen, keyboard, speakers and track pad are one of the best in my book, and I’ve own many laptops and tablets in my lifetime.” Allison
“Super long battery life. No fan noise. Light and portable. Fast. No virus and most importantly inexpensive.” mardigras
“Being a PC gamer and building my own PC’s I have historically overlooked the Chromebook as an option for even our childrens PC’s but I am really reconsidering purchasing another one for my daughter to use.” Amazon Customer

Another Chromebook that made its debut in the summer of 2015, the defining features of this Chromebook are its monstrously huge, 15.6-Inch Full HD Screen and crisp Intel HD Graphics 5500. To give you perspective on the screen size, it’s 45 percent larger than the 11.6-Inch Chromebook. Gamers love this computer for the stellar graphics and if your computer doubles as your television screen to stream shows, movies and videos, this is a great option for you. The downside to its size is that the battery life is 9 hours and it weighs 4.8 pounds. Although the charging speed is fast–if you’re at 50% power, you’ll be up to 100% in less than an hour. Still, college students report this Chromebook model as a favorite for two reasons: its lightning fast processing system which allows you to work on several projects at once, and its sound system which makes it nice to blast music from your laptop.
“The screen is FINALLY nice and clear, bright, and vibrant, especially being a matte, anti-glare screen. It is much brighter than your standard matte screen and the viewing angle is literally almost 180 degrees while still getting good colors, brightness, and readability.” Moon X
“I absolutely love this Chromebook…The main criteria I was looking for in a Chromebook was a processor that can hold up under my heavy multitasking…The speakers are amazing. The keyboard is very sturdy. Nothing about this device feels or looks cheap.” Samantha
“It feels lighter than I expected. It boots fast and is very responsive. My wife loves it and now wants one, too! I’ve noticed no slow downs, even with lots of tabs open.” Coaster Dean
